When we saw that your trophy was broken after the end of the prize giving ceremony, our immediate thought was that you had been clumsy.
Upon further probing, I understood that the broken trophy belonged to Ryan. According to your side of the story, you said that Ryan broke it when it dropped unto the floor, and looked upset and about to cry. That was when you offered to exchange with yours.
I asked you what was the reason for doing so, your reply came as "out of kindness". You told me quite lightheartedly "that was just a trophy, and it's plastic anyway."
You also asked me not to tell anyone else except mommy.
Daddy loves you and is proud of your act of kindness and wanting to remain anonymous.
Kudos to you!
Another saga to the truth behind this:
You told me the actual happenings after I pressured you that Ryan's parents may ask us regarding this when we meet during orientation or in future.
What happened was that you were playing with Ryan then and there was some pulling and tugging during play such that he accidentally dropped his trophy. He said that you caused that to happen and out of guilt, you exchanged the your trophy with his broken one.
Lesson learnt, tell the truth as much as possible, as telling one lie will need you to tell another 100 to cover this lie.
